Interesting Opportunity! Minister Hoskins announced this week that they are now seeking public input in selecting a Patient Ombudsman, inviting people across the province to share ideas of skills, experience and personality traits that they would like to see in Ontario’s first Patient Ombudsman. Appointing a Patient Ombudsman was a commitment in Bill 8, The Public Sector and MPP Accountability and Transparency Act, 2014. A Patient Ombudsman will be in place to help people who have an unresolved complaint against a hospital, a long-term care home or a CCAC. People can now provide feedback until August 31 at http://www.ontario.ca/patientvoices This is the first step in the recruitment process and a summary report of what was heard in the public consultation will be posted on the ministry website. |
