Hello Lived Experience Network,
I trust all of you are enjoying your summer. Thank you for sharing your heart felt stories, observations and suggestions for change and for your interest in the Lived Experience Network, a collection of people affected by dementia or similar diagnoses in South Eastern Ontario.
Some quick news:
- Just a reminder that you are invited you to share your thoughts on our discussion boards at www.dementiacrossroads.ca . Also, join us Wednesday, July 30th from 6:30-8PM and/or Thursday, July 31 from noon to 1pm for a live (typed) online chat. This month’s chat will be an open theme, so come prepared to share whatever you are feeling passionate about. These chats welcome professional partners in care as well as family and friends.
- Be sure to see our Calendar of Events on www.dementiacrossroads.ca . If you know of an event for seniors and older adults in South Eastern Ontario that you’d like me to share, please let me know.
- Over the period of November 2013 and June 2014, I took part in 200 live conversations with 173 people across the SE region. From these talks the South Eastern Ontario Lived Experience Conversations in Care 2014 Report to the Community was created based on your stories and suggestions. The report will soon be edited and finalized. I look forward to sharing it with you and the medical community. COMING SOON.
- Please tell everyone: your clients, friends, patients, colleagues and relatives about the Lived Experience Network and www.dementiacrossroads.ca. I welcome their emails and phone calls.
I hope to see you in person or online very soon.
